World of Card Games Community Guidelines

Last updated: August 2026

World of Card Games is a place to play cards in good company, and these guidelines exist to keep every table enjoyable. They apply to everything you share on the site: table chat, usernames, avatars, private messages, and table names. They form part of our Terms of Use.

How to report a problem

If someone breaks these rules, you can report it right where it happens. Every message in the chat log has a Flag button, and you can open any player's profile at the table to dislike (block) or mute them. Muting hides their chat for you immediately, so you never have to sit through abuse while a report is being handled. For anything else, email holger@www.expelledfromuganda.com and include the player's name and roughly when it happened. A person reads every report, and serious safety reports are handled first.

What we expect

Most of it comes down to being a good table mate:

  • Play your turn at a reasonable pace, and finish the games you start.
  • Keep chat friendly. A "good game" or "nice hand" goes a long way.
  • Be patient with new players. Everyone misplayed their first nil bid once.
  • If a table isn't for you, leave it rather than spoil it for the others.
  • Disagree about the play, not the player.

What isn't allowed

Harassment and threats

Don't insult, threaten, or bully other players, and don't follow someone from table to table to keep at it. Ribbing your partner over a missed trick is one thing. Making someone dread joining a table is another.

Hate speech and discrimination

Slurs and attacks on someone's race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age have no place here, whether aimed at your opponent or shouted into table chat. This includes "jokes" that rely on them.

Sexual content

No sexually explicit or suggestive messages, and no unwelcome advances. Asking a stranger personal questions between hands of Euchre counts.

Self-harm content

Don't post content that encourages or makes light of self-harm. If another player talks about hurting themselves, flag the message or email us so we can respond.

Personal information and doxxing

Never share anyone's address, phone number, email, or other private details, and don't threaten to. Posting your own contact details in table chat isn't allowed either, for your own protection.

Impersonation

Don't pretend to be another player, a moderator, or the site owner, and don't register a name one letter off from a well-known player to trade on their reputation.

Spam, advertising and links

No repeated messages, no advertising, and no unsolicited links. Hopping from table to table to promote another site or service will get your account restricted quickly.

Illegal activity

Don't use the site to promote, arrange, or commit anything illegal, including fraud and scams. Arranging real-money wagers on games played here falls under this too.

Fair play at the table

Games are only fun when everyone plays them straight. The following count as unfair play:

  • Stalling by letting the clock run down on every turn.
  • Quitting a game to dodge a loss.
  • Collusion or teaming up in games where you're meant to play for yourself, such as signaling your Spades partner outside the game.
  • Manipulating ratings, for example by deliberately losing games or arranging results.
  • Exploiting bugs for an advantage. Found one? Email us instead.
  • Using multiple accounts, for example to escape a low reputation.
  • Returning on a new account after a ban.

If you suspect unfair play, flag the chat or email us with the player's name and roughly when the game took place, and we'll look into it.

Usernames and avatars

Your username is the first thing other players see, and its format is checked when you sign up. Names containing slurs, sexual content, hate references, contact details, or impersonation of others are not allowed. Avatars come from the site's own catalog. We may rename an account that breaks these rules. If a name slips through the checks, flag it or email us and we'll take care of it.

Private messages

Everything above applies in private messages too. A message being private doesn't make it exempt. Blocking and muting work there too, and you can report a private message by emailing us. The messaging system also has its own practical rules. See the Rules of Messaging.

What happens if you break these rules

The site runs automatic AI moderation on chat, and a person reviews reports and flagged messages. Depending on how serious it is and whether it continues, consequences range from a friendly warning to chat restrictions, limited matchmaking while trust rebuilds, temporary suspensions, and account closure. The worst content skips straight to closure. Restrictions lift on their own as trust rebuilds, and registered accounts get an email that explains the decision.

Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notification email or write to holger@www.expelledfromuganda.com. Outcomes are reversed, upheld, or not reviewable.

One last thing: deliberately false or retaliatory reports are themselves a violation of these guidelines.
